Publish a WhatsApp Flow to Web Chat

Offer the same form to visitors on your website chat, without a WhatsApp number.

Updated 22 October 2026

Publishing to Web Chat doesn't need a WhatsApp number and sends nothing to Meta. The form opens inside your website chat instead.

Publish it

  1. In Flow Studio, open the version you want.
  2. Check the Web Chat readiness shown for that version. Resume is optional; turn it on only when customers need to save progress.
  3. Select Publish to Web Chat.

Publish to Web Chat shows only where Web Chat forms are on for your workspace.

Offer it on an item

  1. Open the Catalog item and go to its Customer actions.
  2. Choose that exact form version.
  3. Publish the item's changes.

The Inbox's Catalog selection still decides which items its customers can use. Items keep the version they were given until you change it.

What it doesn't do

  • Web Chat takes supported questions that save responses with standard retention. Sensitive collection, conditional questions, Contact updates, Case creation, staff review and other connected outcomes are not supported by this renderer. Use a supported secure form channel; do not collect rejected sensitive answers in ordinary chat.
  • Being ready for Web Chat doesn't make the form ready on WhatsApp or the public Catalog. Each needs its own working connection.
  • A website visitor has no customer record yet, so questions set to fill in from customer details start empty.
  • Build and publish a WhatsApp Flow
  • Let customers finish a WhatsApp Flow later
  • Customer actions on a Catalog item
