Request an SMS sender ID
Submit a 3–11 character brand name for outbound SMS; a superadmin approves it before use.
Updated 22 October 2026
An SMS sender ID is the brand name recipients see on your outbound SMS (e.g. MyBrand) instead of a phone number.
- Go to Settings → Message settings → SMS sender IDs.
- Under Request a sender ID, enter a 3–11 character name — letters and numbers only, no spaces.
- Click Submit for approval. The request lands as Awaiting approval.
- A superadmin reviews and approves it; once Approved, it's usable on outbound SMS.
Notes:
- Names can't be renamed — to change one, delete it and submit a new request.
- Your plan caps how many sender IDs you can hold; approved and pending both count toward the cap.
- Sender ID support and registration vary by country and carrier.
On mobile
Open SMS sender IDs from Channels. How sender IDs work stays at the top. Tap Request sender ID to open the form, enter the name and what you will send, then submit.
The form shows when it is submitting and whether your request was received. Choose Done to return to the list. Awaiting approval means the name is not ready to use yet. Approved, rejected and cancelled requests keep their own status; open a row for its available actions and any review note.
If submission fails, your input stays in the form so you can correct it or retry. If the list cannot load, retry instead of treating it as an empty list. Approved and pending requests count toward your plan limit.
