About campaigns
What a campaign is, which channels it can use, and what has to be in place before you can send one.
Updated 22 October 2026
A campaign sends one message to a lot of your contacts at once — an offer, an announcement, a seasonal reminder. It's a one-off broadcast, not a conversation.
The four things every campaign needs
Channels. Choose email, SMS, WhatsApp or a supported combination. Each selected channel needs its own sender and message. One contact may receive a message on more than one chosen channel; audience deduplication does not mean one message across them all.
An audience. Active contacts or selected Segments and Groups, narrowed by the included and excluded rules. Each contact still needs a reachable destination and permission for the chosen kind of message on that channel.
A message. Your own wording for email and SMS; for WhatsApp it has to be a template WhatsApp has already approved.
A send time. Straight away when you launch, or a date and time you choose.
It stays a draft until you launch
Creating a campaign creates a draft, and a draft sends nothing. You can leave it, come back, and review the editable settings. After launch, the campaign's state limits what can be changed. If you prepare a corrected copy, review the original recipient results first: a new campaign does not carry over the original send history and can send another message to the same people.
Where campaigns live
Campaigns lists everything you've drafted, scheduled and sent. Open one to see how it did. Campaign reports puts the sent ones side by side.
What you need before your first send
- Contacts with the right detail on them — an email address for email, a phone number for SMS, a WhatsApp or phone number for WhatsApp.
- Something to send from — a verified sender email, an SMS sender ID, or a connected WhatsApp number.
- A verified workspace. Campaigns only start once your business details have been reviewed, so upload your documents early rather than on send day.
- Enough capacity. Your monthly allowance, prepaid packs or wallet has to cover the whole audience on that channel.
What your plan decides
Campaigns aren't part of the Free plan, and paid plans set how many campaigns you can create in a month — counted across the workspaces sharing that plan, not separately for each workspace. Creating a draft can therefore use campaign capacity before it sends. WhatsApp campaigns need Growth or higher; on the plans below it, WhatsApp is for your Inbox and Bot rather than broadcasts.
A WhatsApp number connected by scanning a QR code is inbox-only; Qcom does not use that connection for campaigns. Choose an eligible WhatsApp Business connection for a broadcast.
Who can send one
You need permission to create and send campaigns in this workspace. Read access lets someone inspect campaigns and results; it does not grant launch permission. Ask a workspace owner or admin if the action is unavailable for your role.
When a campaign doesn't start
If a campaign does not start, separate an unfinished setup, an ineligible recipient and an actual sending failure. Check the reason and recipient history before duplicating or resending. A scheduled or accepted send is not proof that everyone received it. Continue with Why a campaign didn't send.
