Where Qyra gets its knowledge

Organize sources into knowledge areas, publish them, and choose which areas each Inbox may use.

Updated 22 October 2026

Qyra answers from published sources in the knowledge areas chosen for each Inbox. Use Qyra → Knowledge sources to create and maintain those areas. Publishing an area makes it available to choose; it does not assign the area to an Inbox.

What you can add

You can add three kinds of source:

  • Add website — a public page, captured and kept. If you've set a workspace website, Use workspace website adds it in one click.
  • Add document — choose or upload a PDF from your library.
  • Add rule — an instruction Qyra follows for every reply from an Inbox using this area. Rules are not retrieved as customer answers.

Your Catalog items and your business details are not added here. Qyra reads them from your workspace directly, so a change is live as soon as you publish or save it. You change them where they are kept — business details and the optional AI assistant name in Business profile, items in Catalog — and nothing needs adding on this page.

Your published help articles are already included too. They sync in on their own whenever you make one live.

There are no third-party connectors yet. If you want something from another system in Qyra's knowledge, put it in a document or a page for now.

Get a source ready

Adding a source doesn't make Qyra use it. Each one goes through the same three steps.

  1. Scan the source. For a website this is Scan the first time and Rescan afterwards; for the others it's Refresh.
  2. Review what was captured. The dialog shows the text Qyra would actually read — check it's current, on topic, and has nothing private in it.
  3. Publish source.

Choose Create FAQ drafts on any scanned website. The full FAQ page opens to review them before publishing. New drafts use Qyra credits; reopening them does not.

Make it available to an Inbox

Sources sit inside a knowledge area — a group of sources about one topic. An area starts as a draft, and Publish knowledge area is what makes it selectable. Only published areas can be chosen by an Inbox.

Open the Inbox's Automation settings, choose Qyra AI, turn on Knowledge, then choose Inbox knowledge. Select every published area that Inbox may use and save the selection. The same area can be selected for several Inboxes, and each Inbox can use several areas.

There is no automatic workspace-wide knowledge selection. If an Inbox has no area selected, Qyra receives no general knowledge for that Inbox. Turning Knowledge off pauses use without changing the saved selection.

Archive takes an area out of use. Inbox selections are removed, and existing citations stay.

Keep it current

Remove on a source stops Qyra using it, and its review history is kept for audit.

Rescan a website when the page changes. A source that hasn't been rescanned still answers from the version you reviewed, which is the point — but it means an out-of-date page keeps giving out-of-date answers.

When Qyra doesn't use a source

  • You added it but never published it. Adding creates a reference. Scan, review, publish.
  • You published the source but not the area. A draft area isn't offered to any Inbox.
  • The area isn't selected on that Inbox. Publishing doesn't assign it. Choose it on the Inbox that should use it.
  • The source is past its review date. A source due for review is left out until someone reviews it again, rather than answering from something nobody has checked.
  • You removed it. Qyra stops using a removed source straight away.

Drafting customer-facing content

To create answers from a website, open its captured content and choose Create answer drafts. Review what will be created, then confirm. If the website capture changes, open it again and review the new plan.

On your phone, edit an answer and choose Save answer, then Review FAQ group. Read every answer and choose Publish FAQs. Saving an edit to a published FAQ takes its group out of use until you review and publish the group again. If the area or website source needs publication first, the review tells you.

Save as test in Test Qyra saves a question for another test run. It does not publish that answer or teach it to customer conversations. Write the facts you expect in the saved test's expected answer. To make an answer available to customers, review and publish it in Knowledge and select its area for the Inbox or Bot that should use it.

Before recording or applying a reviewed draft, Qyra rechecks its Knowledge. If it changed or cannot be verified, no new changes are saved. Ask Qyra to generate again. A confirmed earlier save remains saved.
