Review a return at the counter
Check available quantities, the return window and the refund estimate before requesting a return.
Updated 22 October 2026
Open Orders → View order → Start a return. With Commerce read access, you can review a return without opening a shift. Reviewing does not refund money, restock items or cancel delivery work.
Review the items
- Check the quantity still available to return. Earlier return requests reserve quantities; rejected requests release them. A closed historical request may still reserve its quantity, so ask your owner to review it if the available amount looks wrong.
- Choose the quantity for each item and a return reason.
- Select Review return to see the refund estimate after fees. The amount uses the item's saved sale discount and current return terms.
- Check the estimate before choosing Request return with your shift open. Changing a quantity or reason clears the old estimate and needs another review.
The return fee is charged once per returned line, capped at the amount for that line. The preview does not promise that a provider refund has been approved or sent.
Return windows and exceptions
The window starts from the recorded delivery date. Return window needs review means there is no date or published window to judge; it does not mean the customer is automatically outside the window.
A closed window requires permission to accept late returns and a reason. Only staff with that permission see the exception field. An approved exception keeps the published return fee.
When review cannot finish
- Access or settings: ask your owner for Commerce read access. Ask them to review a return fee whose currency differs from the order.
- No eligible quantity: another return may already claim the items. Check Existing returns before starting another request. A late return needs an authorized exception.
- Could not load or review: refresh the items and check their current quantities before trying again. No return is created by reviewing.
