Record a counter payment
Record money received and confirm eligible cash from your own open shift.
Updated 22 October 2026
After creating an order, or from Orders → View order → Payment, choose Record payment received when an amount is still available to collect. This records money you already received; it does not charge a card or transfer money.
How it works
The Payment section separates money collected after refunds from money awaiting review. You can record the available amount or a smaller payment. Each cash, MoMo or bank payment is kept separately. Amounts already awaiting payment or review are reserved, so they cannot be recorded again. Your role must allow counter payments, and your shift must be open at the order's branch.
How to use it
- Check Amount, which starts at the amount available to collect. Enter a smaller amount for a partial payment.
- Choose Cash, MoMo or Bank. For MoMo or bank payments, enter the payment reference.
- Confirm that you received the displayed amount, then choose Record received payment.
- To split a payment, record each part separately. Check the updated balance before recording the next part.
Recording is separate from approval. Eligible cash shows Confirm cash payment when you have permission. You must have recorded that cash, and the shift and till used for its recording must still be open for you. Ending another person's abandoned shift does not give you authority to confirm their cash.
Other payments remain for review. Payments requiring designated reviewers cannot use this cash confirmation. Use Review payment in order to continue in the dashboard. To let the customer pay now, show a card or MoMo checkout.
If the response does not arrive
The recording may have succeeded. Reopen the order or choose Refresh payment before collecting more money. Reloading checks saved payment facts without recording anything. If the check finds your recording, review or confirm it there. Continue with updated balance clears the saved retry after that check so you can record another part. If a successful check finds no recording, Retry same recording repeats the saved method, reference and original shift details only when you choose it. Stay on the original till and shift. If the check fails, refresh or use Review payment in order; do not make another recording.
If cash confirmation fails, the recording is kept. Choose Refresh payment to check its current status before taking further payment. An owner or admin can review payment setup or grant the appropriate access.
See Prepare and complete counter orders for returning to an order, and Open and close a counter shift for shift access.
Once the full payment is confirmed, print or send a counter receipt.
