Bookings
What makes an item bookable
Check the service, availability and customer booking setup before taking bookings.
Updated 22 October 2026
To offer a service for booking, publish it in Catalog, set when it is available and choose where customers can book.
Your plan must include Bookings. You also need permission to change the service and booking settings.
Prepare the service
- Open the service in Catalog and add Book under Customer actions.
- Check its duration, hours, availability and any required people or rooms in Booking.
- Set a price if you charge for the service, then publish the item and make it visible to customers.
The duration is how long one booking lasts. Check the amount and currency if you charge. Booking hours come from the service's Catalog settings or the business hours it follows; the Inbox does not set its own hours.
A price records what the booking costs. To require payment before confirmation, set the service's payment rules. See Book, reschedule and cancel.
Let customers book
In a conversation with Qyra. Customers can book through Web Chat, WhatsApp, Instagram or Facebook. Connect the channel to an Inbox and enable Book appointments in that Inbox's Qyra settings. Under Catalog, include the published service in the Inbox's selection. Booking setup → Services shows the bookable services from that selection.
In a conversation with a bot. Connect a published bot to the Inbox and include a Book Appointment step for the service.
On your public Catalog. Enable public booking so customers can use the service's Book button.
In a WhatsApp booking form. Publish a booking Flow and connect it to the Inbox's WhatsApp number.
Each option needs its own setup. Test the option you will offer before sharing it with customers.
Choose which services the Inbox offers
In the Inbox's Qyra settings, open Catalog. Everything published includes the published Catalog; Choose specific lets you select the types, categories or items this Inbox offers. Use a narrower selection when different Inboxes serve different parts of your business. A service still needs valid booking setup and must be available to the customer.
If you need a new service, Create in Catalog in Booking setup opens Catalog creation when your permissions allow it. Save any pending Inbox changes before leaving, then publish the service and include it in the Inbox's Catalog selection.
Your team can also create a booking from Operations → Bookings, subject to their permissions and booking rules. The Book appointments switch controls Qyra; it does not enable every booking option or replace staff access.
Check the result
Complete a test booking as a customer, then open Operations → Bookings in the same workspace. Check the service, customer, time and booking status.
Check the amount recorded on the booking too. A saved price is not proof that payment was requested or collected; check the linked payment separately.
Staff see bookings their access allows. Separate workspaces keep separate booking records.
If customers cannot book
- Booking is turned off. Check the chosen channel, its booking settings and whether the published service is included.
- A service is missing. Check its booking details, publication, customer visibility and the Inbox's Catalog selection. See Who can see and hold a Catalog item.
- No suitable time is available. Check the service's hours, notice period and available people or rooms. See Why a time isn't offered.
- A booking could not be completed. Check Bookings before asking the customer to try again. If the outcome is unclear, ask the Qcom team to investigate.
Next, set when customers can book or take your first booking.
